About Creative Writing

It takes wild-eyed determination to walk the path that only you can see.

What I've learned along the way:

(1) Books are written one page at a time

Sit down and write to a daily page goal. Do not wait for the holy inspiration.

(2) Add flesh to the bones

Expand your episodes to chapter size. I thought the "fillers" were my worst writing, but they turned out to be my best.

(3) Chisel the book into shape by relentless editing

This will take eighty percent of the whole process.

(4) Creative writing is the loneliest business.

It cannot be turned into a team effort. Friends and family will help - but they won't share your vision, passion, and faith.
